About this sessionWith ever increasing dependence on technology in daily life and in many cases literal dependence of matter of life and death, failure is not an option. Consequently, failure analysis is becoming a standard tool in the development of new materials and products. It provides the path to determine the root cause of the failure which in turn helps in improving the product, helps determining the reliability and liability of the products. Many of the techniques utilized in the FA are also used for materials characterization. The presentation will provide a brief overview of failure and its analysis along with some of the commonly utilized techniques.

Javaid is a material scientist with substantial material development and characterization experience. He holds multiple patents.
